Somerset : Beautiful Bath

The Royal Crescent Bath.

It is worth a walk along the crescent if you are in Bath. A row of 30 terraced town houses. Stunning architecture, shaped in a crescent and designed by the architect John Wood was build between 1767-1774.  Number 1 is now a museum showing life in the eighteenth century with original furniture. In the middle sits number 16 which is The Royal Crescent hotel.  The buildings stretch over 500 feet in length and 50 feet in height. 10 are still full size town houses and 18 have been turned into luxury flats. In 2007 Jane Austen’s Persuasion was filmed there.
